Confession…I’ve never ever had a real life Christmas tree. My family has always only had the fake kind. I’ve never had the experience of going out to pick out a tree and cutting it down, let alone just picking one out from a tree lot. But I kinda like it that way. I don’t feel guilty for not wanting a real tree. In fact… you know what I really want? I want an awesome fake white tree! I think they’re beautiful and magical. And unlike this photo I found, I definitely don’t ever want a “themed” tree. I like having random ornaments with meaning. I can’t wait to have a Christmas tree of mine someday. I don’t even know why I’m talking about Christmas trees. I guess I’m just kinda excited for Christmas this year which is strange for me. Oh well.. maybe Christmas 2009 will be a good one. What kind of Christmas tree will you have this year?

We watched this clip today in Intro to Sociology and I thought it was pretty neat so I thought I’d share.

About a month ago Madre and I were searching through her thousands of cookbooks and food magazines (seriously, thousands is not an exaggeration) in search for my birthday dessert for my 20th. I stumbled upon this awesomely festive cake from a cookbook from 1987. My entire family is made of people who love to cook, and happen to be awesome at it. I didn’t get that gene though. So I’m thinking of showing up to Thanksgiving with this masterpiece while everyone else makes real fancy dishes. Just an idea.
